There's no doubt that volunteers are fantastic ambassadors for Bush Heritage Australia. They are proud to be part of our conservation community and love to tell others about their first-hand experiences of working with us both on and off our reserves. Combine that eagerness to communicate with the fact that they are an incredibly mobile bunch, travelling the country to contribute to conservation projects.
Does that sound like a recipe for a bumper sticker to you? We thought so...
This volunteer season we'll be issuing our dedicated volunteers with a small badge of honour. The Bush Volunteer bumper sticker is just one way for us to say thanks to the green nomads, the adventurous families, the keen professionals, the students and the supporters who share their enthusiasm, skills and time to help us achieve our goals.
It's an acknowledgement for their efforts but also hopefully a conversation starter that will help raise awareness about who we are and what we do.
Destined for 4WDs, camper trailers, water bottles and eskies all around the country, we're hoping that the stickers may catch the eye of other bush-loving Aussies and spark some campground conversations about bush volunteering as well as other ways to support our work.
First to receive a sticker were Paul Green, Mark Drummond and Mark Jennings (pictured here) who all volunteered to help with post-wet season tasks like fence repairs and general maintenace at Yourka Reserve. But keep your eyes peeled as the stickers make their way out across the country.
